Sep 25th
So Facebook has been busy with making changes on its products, we have seen a huge range of changes to be made within the next few weeks.
Some of these big changes include the following:
1. Facebook Time Lines – what this product does is merge all your details from the life time of your Facebook account into a scrap book style function showing every detail of your account on a month by month basis for all the years of your account.
2. Profile home page changes – we see the home page of users profiles also making some big changes, profile content in larger and situated in boxes on your profile.
Facebook Cover Picture
3. Facebook chat – we see some huge changes on Facebook chat, Facebook has split the chat box into 3 sections. 1 – The latest content which is been posted on your account, if you have a huge amount of friend it changes so quickly you can not even read it. 2 – Most active online friends online in which you interact with 3 – All other online friends.
Now all these changes have been made we will wait too see how the users react I think users will take a whole to get use to the whole range of new changes to be implemented.
Facebook Time Lines an interesting new product at F8.
Sep 23rd
So today I have been testing a new feature which Facebook had released in the last 24 hours called Facebook Time Lines it was announced at the Facebook F8 conference. Currently the product is available to people who are developers on Facebook.
At the Sydney F8 conference today they were really pushing this new product.
The thing which is mind blowing about the new product is that it puts together your whole profile from the past to the present.
1. You have a new home page view where it shows the time line of your account:
2. You then see a whole history of photos from your account per each year, also tagged photos come up.
3. Then by month you see the status updates you have made on your account.
Overall this just shows the amount of data that Facebook has and can use, it will be interesting too see how they can use this data for advertising.
Overall I feel that a lot of people will be angry about this and worried about the degree of data that the public can actually see, I mean would you want to show your whole like profile to just any random on the street?
Also finally a little goodie from the event which I may auction off soon for charity so stay tuned on that one:
